About the Job
Job Details:
- Provides personal hygiene services, housekeeping tasks, and other related support services essential to the consumer’s health.
- Observes, records, and reports all changes to the supervisor.
- Performs home management tasks including housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and errands.
- Prepares and serves simple modified diets according to instructions and assists with feeding as necessary.
- Assists with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assists with toileting, including the use of a bedpan, commode, or toilet.
- Assists self-directing consumers with transfers and ambulation, including the use of a cane, walker, and wheelchair.
Provides routine skin care. May assist self-directing consumers in applying nonprescription topical medications to the skin surface:
- Collects routine specimens.
- Obtains the consumer’s weight.
- Assist self-directing consumers in reminding them of their home maintenance exercise programs.
- Assists the self-directing consumer with reminders on changing the tubing or refilling a tank in the use of their oxygen equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a home health aide or in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with clients of all ages.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of clients with special needs or medical conditions.
